Technique time

June 1st, 2009 by Louise

Hi all.  I mentioned a few posts back that I had recently had a play with the faux metal technique.  I actually did this for my Club ladies as requested by one of my members, (hi Sue) and going by their reactions, it was a hit.

It’s actually quite simple, but you have to be super quick and have all steps ready to go on the spot, oh and a fair bit of embossing powder!

This is one of the sample cards I made for the night:

I have stamped the large flower from Embrace Life in Versamark on the main Baja Breeze cardstock and then layered Basic Grey with Baja Breeze and a piece of the Urban Garden DSP, added some paper piercing and Gray Taffeta ribbon.  I’ve then made my 3 faux metal badges by using several layers of silver embossing powder and then stamping a flower image from Embrace Life into the heated powder and punch out using the Square Scallop punch.

If you are interested in learning this technique or others perhaps you would be interested in joining my next Stamp Club to start soon.  At the moment I have an evening club meeting here once a month where the girls learn a technique, make a sample card for their booklet and then a card using the same technique.

Register your interest now by email and join in the fun and friendship of my Stamp Club.
