Ssshhhh don’t tell…..
Hey there. I know I’m supposed to be busy with other things but I managed to sneak away into my craft room between washing loads, unpacking, playing board games and making biscuits to ink up some of my new stamps.
I haven’t got a lot to show at this stage but thought I’d share what I’ve been up to anyway. This card uses the new Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set which I just love (OK you’ll be hearing me say that a lot about all the stamp sets). I love the striking outline flowers which look beautiful as is or watercoloured. This is a very simple, quick and easy card with not a lot of embellishment and it actually looks more elegant in real life.
Stamp set: Fifth Avenue Floral, sentiment from Always
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Urban Oasis designer paper
Inks: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Basic Gray taffeta ribbon
This next card is made using the Upsy Daisy stamp set (which I get the feeling is going to be very popular). I have stamped the image in Versamark on glossy paper and then used white embossing powder over the top. I have then sponged on layers of So Safron, More Mustard and Tangerine Tango. It’s a very effective technique with this stamp in particular.
Stamp sets: Upsy Daisy, Best Yet
Cardstock: Basic Black, Glossy white, Haiku designer paper
Inks: Tangerine Tango, Versamark, So Safron, More Mustard
Accessories: Scallop circle punch, white embossing powder, Basic Black ribbon, large circle punches, white gel pen, sponges, dimensionals.
Here is a close up look at the embossing and sponging effect.
I do feel there is something not quite right with this card but I can’t put my finger on it. I’m not sure if the sentiment is overbearing, the background paper too busy or perhaps it’s all just a little orange! When I get more time I might try another colour scheme and see what I come up with.
Hope you are having a good day! Back to my chores…

These cards are stunning Lou. I have Fifth Ave Floral and just LOVE it, but not Upsy Daisy. I think that one will be going on my next list. TFS.
Your camping holiday sounds like it was lots of fun. See you soon.

I love this Upsy Daisy card – just beautiful and a great use of the Haiku paper too.
