Reflection…
In reflection I should have bought a bigger dining table coz my Club was bursting at the seams last night! No, really what I mean to say is ‘reflection’ was the technique at last night’s get together. We had so much fun and whilst we had to wait awhile for the products to make their way around the table, I didn’t hear anyone complaining (but I did hear lots of chatter and laughs).
The reflection or mirror image technique is very quick and easy although the best images to use are outline images so therefore it requires a bit of colouring to make the effect complete. Here are a couple of samples for your viewing pleasure…

The Lovely as A Tree stamp set is ideal for this technique and comes up beautifully in so many colours and variations. The card we made as a group (centre pic) was made with Father’s Day in mind (the trees are fantastic for male cards) and I have used Really Rust as the base card stamped with the Sanded background, then layers of Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and the image stamped onto Confetti White. To embellish I have used the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit plus the two oval punches, gingham ribbon and some metallic brads.

For this card I have used the Sanded background again (ok, I just got it this week) on the Soft Sky then layered with Really Rust and Blue Bayou. I have stamped the image in the Basic Gray and then lightly used my aquapainter just inside the image to give a shadow effect, then used the Soft Sky ink with my aquapainter to colour in some water. I have never used this set Summer by the Sea before (thanks for the loan Ngaire) and I have to say the images come up beautifully. To embellish I have again used the oval punches and some white grosgrain ribbon.
This is just one of the techniques we are covering in my monthly stamp club. I currently have a night club running, however I have a few ladies interested in a daytime one, so if you are intersted in learning new techniques, card folds and layouts, then contact me to register your interest. You only need to commit to purchase $30 of product a month for 10 months to be part of the club and one of those months you will play hostess and receive your Ideas Book and Catalogue, at least $30 worth of free product PLUS your exclusive free hostess stamp set. I hold the club at my home and you will make a sample of the technique with written instructions, plus a card using the same technique. It’s loads of fun, some time out for you, and a great way to get motivated to get cracking on some projects at home too!
Well, I am a wee bit tired after the last few busy days plus I am working on decorations for the school ball on Saturday night (someone has to do it I tell my hubby – usually me, he says). This one is for the parents so it should be a blast and am really looking forward to it.
Talk to you soon. Stay well and happy stamping!
Lou.

These look fabulous Lou – great job! I think my favourite it Summery by the Sea, which is not a set I use very much at all – so thanks for the inspiration! I’m an old fan of Lovely as a Tree though – they are such classics!
