Quick male card challenge
This week on one of the demonstrator forums we were challenged by Karen to make a quick male card that took no more than 10 minutes to make.
This was such a fantastic idea because I think we all have a mental blank when it comes to masculine cards although I’m finally learning that need not be the case at all with some of the new sets in the catalogue. You just need to think outside the box a bit.
Enough waffling… here are my two cards.

This card is actually one I made a few weeks ago but was also quick and easy. I’ve used the Sanded background on the Pumpkin Pie card then added a piece of Washington Apple DSP, stamped and coloured the images and mounted it onto Riding Hood Red, added some paper piercing and a jumbo eyelet with the Crop-o-dile with some pumpkin grosgrain and twine.

This one is a simple layout and a quick and easy card I did for a workshop on Sunday with a lovely bunch of girls at my friend Julie’s! Hi ladies! I think they were glad to get to the simplicity of the owls at the end after the other cards we made.
I have simply stamped the owls and coloured them with my aqua painter, then punched them out and layered them on the larger circle and then onto the Baja Breeze and then the Really Rust and tied the Choc Chip ribbon. I also stamped, coloured and cut out the party hat. I have inked the main cardstock in the Weathered background stamp and stamped the “hoot hoot hooray” in Choc Chip. Lastly, I added Crystal Effects to the eyes which made them come to life a little more!
I think this is such a cute set and can see many uses for it now that I’ve had a little play.

I agree – the perfect gift
Especially since my card stock was at zero and now I have some beautiful cards to give away (if I can bare to part with them)

Hey Lou – your cards for my challenge are awesome! Dunno about you, but I’ve now got some great ideas for 10 minute male cards – I’m always so pushed for time lately! lol
