Colour challenge

May 21st, 2009 by Louise

Hi all.  We are finally getting a little rain in Perth today – ok it’s only a bit but it’s a start.  We haven’t had any rain for such a long time and as much as I know it will only pelt down at school drop off and pick up time when I can’t find my umbrella, we still need it!  Not so, for those poor Queenslanders hey?

I have taken part in the Keesh’s colour challenge this week and also wanted to have another play with Circle Circus to make some masculine cards, so have combined the two.

Here are this week’s colours.

and here is my card.

Stamp Set:  Sanded, Circle Circus, Occasional Greetings
Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Cutter kit to distress, Scallop circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, corner rounder, word window punch, Cropodile, jumbo eyelets, brads, linen thread, mat pack, wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

Then I had another go while I was there and came up with this.

Stamp Sets:  Circle Circus, Happy Everything
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust
Inks:  Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Really Rust
Accessories:  Wide chocolate grosgrain ribbon, Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, Cropodile, jumbo eyelets, brads.

It’s always great to come up with masculine cards as I do find adult males a little difficult to make for, so I’m thankful I have Circle Circus now to help me with that.

Ok, well I’d best go and frock up as I’m off to a lovely lunch with some school mums.  I am so lucky to be surrounded by such fantastic people in my life! Have a great day.

Cheers

Hey Lou…..isn’t it amazing how the feel of a card changes when you change the main card colour. They are all magical and I can see you love playing with the Circus Circus set!!

Love them both Louise! I love circle circus and you are doing a great job using it! Love the colour combo too ….so much that I haven’t got ONE scrap of any of those colours left to enter the challenge!

Lou these are stunning! I wasn’t sure on this set when we got it but that is making me think twice and not only that but I struggle with ‘male’ cards and yours are very inspirational! Thank you for sharing them.
