Chabby Chic Male?!

August 20th, 2008 by Louise

Is there such a thing as male chabby chic?  I’m not sure but I made this card for my nephew Mitch who turned 18 last week.  I would say hi but I’m almost certain he doesn’t surf craft blogs!  I borrowed the Wanted set from my fantastic upline Ngaire (who is currently sunning herself at Palm Cove!) for my Club class and whilst I had it decided to make the most of it and belt out a card for Mitch.  On catching my breath on my return from racing to the corner to pop it in the postbox I realised I should have taken a pic as I was so pleased with it.  Here is another I made for my samples.

I cased this from SCS but couldn’t find the link again so my apologies to the original creator.  I did change the colours and emblishments.  Cardstock and inks used are Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Blue Bayou and Very Vanilla.  I have used the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit to roughen the edges and also sponged the Very Vanilla with River Rock.  I used a few bits and pieces from the Hodgepodge Hardware and a little stitched Blue Bayou ribbon.

I am a sucker for Blue Bayou at the moment and have to stop myself from reaching for it automatically!  It is beautiful and feminine with Certainly Celery and looks great here too with the River Rock and Chocolate Chip for the male touch.

Thanks for looking.  Goodnight!

Lou

    Hi Louise

That is such a nice card, thanks for sharing. I also love your reflection cards….that isn’t a technique I have tried before, but I will take a peak at your instructions and have a go.

Hope to see you in a few weeks at regionals.
