Better late than never

July 6th, 2009 by Louise

Hello!  Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted.  I had a super busy end of school term and have also been working on some samples and ideas for the upcoming Stamp-a-thon (see this post) so I can’t show you too much just yet. I hope you have your registration forms in because places are filling quickly and what a fun way to contribute towards a fantastic cause!

Last week I managed to play along with the Sweet Sunday sketch.  I have saved a few of these sketches before but never managed to get one done.  Of course this time I actually did one but didn’t get it uploaded in time.  Oh well, it doesn’t matter because I really only participate in these sketches to get my mind thinking outside the box a little when it comes to new card layouts.

So this was the sketch:

and this is my card.

I really do love these groovy little trees and don’t use them as much as I would like.  I also love the idea of using circles in layouts so I put the two together and this is what I got.

Stamp set:  Trendy Trees
Cardstock:  Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink:  Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango (I rock’n'rolled the leaves), Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Mat pack, Coluzzle, Cutter kit to distress the Tangerine strips and the circles, Haiku DSP

Happy stamping – I’ll be back soon.

Gorgeous card Lou, thanks for sharing it :) I love these trees too. The more I see the sketches from Sweet Sunday they more I’m thinking I need to go there & check them out.
    Thanks again Lou
